Grand Opening

Grand Opening

When my friends ask me why I opened a quilt shop, I reply that I hope it is not just a quilt shop. I want it to be a destination shop for creators. My goal is to create a community—a place for modern quilters to gather, share, and build appreciation for the quilting experience.
We will host educational sessions (free) each month. In April and May, these sessions include a workshop on thread, and how to get your quilt ready for a longarmer.

The shop doubles as a classroom and a sit-n-sew space on Fridays and Saturdays by reservation. I hate carting my machine to classes, and I bet you do as well. I don’t think it is good for the machines or our backs, so we have machines available to rent. (Seven Bernina 770s, four Viking Diamonds, three sergers, a sit-down longarm, and two Q24 Bernina longarms.) We encourage folks who have never sewn to come and get started.
Each Friday and Saturday, we hope to build a BUZZ in the center of the shop of fellow creators doing their thing. The coffee and tea pots will always be fresh, and the shop will be welcoming.
We also want to be the spot to help you finish your quilts. We rent Bernina Q24s with instruction and offer a wide selection of backing fabrics—Cuddle, Minky, Sherpa, Flannel, and over 60 Cotton Widebacks.
We will also have trunk shows and a machine embroidery club. We have lots of fun planned.

Join us in our journey.
