The fun of owning a quilt store is selecting fabrics, seeing what sells, and meeting wonderful creative quilters. Our goal is to offer modern quilters a wide assortment of fabric in vibrant colors. We want to do different better and excel at serving the needs of the modern quilter. We don’t want you to think of us as a quilt shop. Our mission is to create a place where modern quilters can meet and create.
We are busy trying to accomplish this goal.
Shop Hop Ends. A BIG Thanks!

Shop Hop Fun!
The shop opened in March 2025. Getting a new shop ready for the Mid-Atlantic Shop Hop was a scramble, but we were honored to host 987 new friends. We appreciated your support. Day-after-day, quilters traveled long distances down southern Lancaster roads to find our chop.
Cold water and a comfortable chair felt good on a hot summer day. And, we had some HOT ones. Charlie, our bright blue bunny/hopper partner, is now retired, and the shop is being set up for classes. We will be drawing the raffle tickets on Tuesday. Watch for the call from Brice that you are a winner!

We resume regular hours this week. The shop will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. (We will be doing some evening classes even though the regular shop hours are closed.)
Support of the Lancaster Quilt Show
If you are headed to the Lancaster Quilt Show on September 10th-13th, stop by and check out our sale rack at the back of the store and snap-up our discounts on Riley Blake fabric kits and fat quarter bundles. We are not exhibiting, but would like to help you if you have a group of friends that would like to explore the store after hours call the shop to reserve a time.
Remember, We Are Only a Web Click Away
If you drove many miles for the shop hop, don’t dispair. Don’t forget we ship. We aim to offer the largest selection of wideback fabrics, and we have just gotten some great Halloween and Christmas fabrics into the shop.
New Arrivals
Isn’t this beautiful fabric? This week, we are showcasing the arrival of Tilda Christmas. We are in love with the free patterns on the Tilda website. We will be kitting the star quilts in the two colorways shown above. We cannot decide which we like best. Call the shop if you are interested in one of the kits. we think that they will go fast. This Tilda line is already out of stock at many quilt shops across the country.
We also expect the arrival of the Pammie J’s kitty litter fabric line this week. We cannot get enough of Pammie J’s creativity. She is a highly talented designer from the Reading, Pennsylvania area. (We love supporting PA designers.)

Shown below are the two kits available from her Costume Cutie line. The two designs — Costume Party and Dead End — are now available for purchase on our website. If you are interested, get them quickly; they will not be here for long. Much of the fabric is currently out of stock at Dear Stella.
Pammie’s book, Purrfect Quilting, showcasing much of her Kitty Litter line, will be back in stock next week. We sold out at the recent Trunk Show. The trunk show was SEW-MUCH fun!
Brice is excited to kit the In the Beginning Emerald Reign Dragon kits this week. (The quilt sample is hanging in the shop.)We will be putting 20 kits into stock.
We have also received a number of shipments of Anna Maria from Northcott. Stop by to check out the fat quarter bundles, new patterns and fabric kits that only Anna Maria can do.

The children’s dragon quilt, Dragon Friends by In the Beginning, will also be available starting on the 16th.

Next Trunk Show
Our next trunk show is with Rachel Rossi on November 6th at 6:00 PM. Rachel is a Lancaster native and we expect the event to be popular. We limit attenance to twelve. Sign up soon!
A trunk show gives you the opportunity to meet the designer, hear her story, and see the beautiful quilts first-hand. In preparation for Rachel’s trunk show, we will be displaying many quilts from her fabric lines available as kits. Shown below are Sugar Cookie (Villa Rossa pattern) in Bee Haven, the Vintage Line using the Villa Rossa Addison pattern, and Bee Maze.

Classes
We offer sit-n-sew on Saturdays and Charity Quilting on Tuesday nights (resuming on September 10th). We will start renting our longarm equipment (two computerized Bernina Q-24s) on October 15th.

We have launched our new class calendar, and hope to see you soon. Let us know if you have any questions, and remember, our class for beginning quilters starts on the 10th. (Five sessions to learn all the basics from Kelly Davis for a great price of $100. So sign up soon. Kelly’s skills are excellent, and we think that there is no such thing as a beginner for very long. Just takes some skill building.) The machine embroidery club will be the third week of the month and we have several educational sessions offered as well. (Knowing thread and needles, understanding the color wheel, and what to do with SCRAPS.)
The Jacqueline De Jonge retreat in June 2026 has eight open seats. Call the shop if interested. We are excited to announce that Jacqueline de Jong is teaching her 4-Day masterclass for us at the Eden Suites in Lancaster, PA. The techniques in the class will apply to her kits of Luna, Miss Daisy & Miss Dottie, Dancing Dragonflies, Fairy Dance, and BeColourful Colorstories.

Jacqueline will teach from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for four days, but the rest of the time is available for besties to sew with their friends. The retreat set-up is in the Presidential ballroom. At the retreat, the sewing area will be available 24 hours. So after getting inspired sew away! The hotel is offering a special discount, so sign up today.
We Appreciate YOU and Your Support
Building the shop has had a lot of starts and stops. The endless number of pallets, computer terminals that did not work, and website issues. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Our goal is to move forward. If you have any questions on the classes, retreats, or the release of the kits, stop by or call the shop to talk to Brice, Charlene, Kelly, or Maeve. We appreciate your support!
